Milestone
We are inching towards the climax in UPT20 2025! Lucknow Falcons march on in their quest! Join us back tomorrow as we continue this journey with the live coverage of Qualifier 2!

Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my colleagues Saptak Sanyal, Deepak Prakash, and Bishal Mandal! See you on the next one.
Satyam Pandey (Player of the Match): "I was thinking that if I can get 3-4 balls, I might play a good knock. In the last over, team was in need of runs. Glad that I connected those. I practice a lot for power hitting. The job is simple. You need to score as much as runs possible taking lesser number of balls."
Player of the Match: Satyam Pandey
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Lucknow Falcons Captain): "The way we started the tournament, we were lacking in a certain area, but we have done well to improve that, and it was commendable how everyone stepped up.

In the last two matches, we have done the same, where our batters have scored runs in the last 2 overs, and today we repeated that. Satyam was fantastic under pressure.

It was not a big score because of the dew, but we had to rotate our bowlers according to the shorter boundary. Everyone was really helpful, and I keep asking the senior players for advice.

We have come back well after the first 5-6 matches, we have played good cricket, and executed our plans well. We knew we just had to make a few improvements, and we have done it. We were way behind in the fielding department, but Vipraj's catch today is evidence of how far we have come."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony..
Akshdeep Nath (Gorakhpur Lions Captain): "I think we started really well. 56/2 in the 8 overs was good. We didn't concede too many runs. I think we gave 20 runs extra and the final two overs changed the game. Dew was there but the impact was not that high.

I think the team has done well together. On my personal note, I would've been happier to score 100 more runs. Next time I will be keen to score over 450 in the season.

The tournament is getting bigger and better every year. Not a good memory if you don't win the tournament."
11:18 PM IST, Local Time | Lucknow Falcons keep their dream alive in UPT20 2025! They eliminate the Gorakhpur Lions and secure their place in tomorrow's Qualifier 2 against the Meerut Mavericks to determine the second finalist! Lucknow wins by 23 runs. Falcons scored 24 runs in the final over of their batting innings, and that proved to be the difference today.

Lucknow Falcons won the toss and elected to bat first, and despite losing wickets at regular intervals, valuable knocks from Abhay Pratap Singh (33), M Saif (32), and late innings cameos from Satyam Pandey (24) and Vipraj Nigam (13) helped them establish a total of 170/7 at the end of their 20 overs.

Prince Yadav was the best bowler for Gorakhpur Lions with 2/22, and Abdul Rehman chipped in with a couple of wickets as well.

Come the chase, Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave his team a dream start as he found the edge of Bhaskar Tripathi on the very first ball! Under early pressure, Nishant Kushwaha and Akshdeep Nath responded well with a 43-run partnership for the second wicket, but the skipper could not contribute further for his team as he fell prey to Akshu Bajwa in the 7th over.

Nishant Kushwaha labored his way to 34 runs off 32 balls, but Akshu Bajwa had his revenge when he trapped Kushwaha in front in the 12th over. From there on, Siddharth Yadav held up one end to keep hopes alive with a gritty half-century off 40 balls, but he kept losing partners at the other end as the soaring required rate and disciplined bowling from the Falcons was enough to choke Gorakhpur Lions.

Navneet Kumar bowled a double-wicket penultimate over to seal the deal for his team as he finished with 3/33 from 4 overs to spearhead the attack. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Akshu Bajwa chipped in with a couple of wickets each, as Vipraj Nigam also registered himself on the scoreboard with a solitary wicket.

In the end, Lucknow Falcons outclassed Gorakhpur Lions in all 3 departments of the game today, and will look forward to repeating this performance tomorrow against Meerut Mavericks!

We bid goodbye to Gorakhpur Lions as their journey in UPT20 2025 comes to an end.
