Milestone
Gqeberha has traditionally been a happy hunting venue for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. They continued the trend today and nailed the conditions! They were much better both with bat and ball. With that drubbing over the Joburg Super Kings, they make it to the playoffs. They become the first team to do that this season and now they will be eying the top 2 spots! The Super Kings also needed a win today to make it to the playoffs. Now they will have to wait for their next game.

Tomorrow, we move to Centurion. The Pretoria Capitals take on the Paarl Royals!

On this note, I, Manan Mehta, would like to take your leave on behalf of my colleagues Mohammad Anab and Yogesh Kumar. B-byeeee!
James Coles (POTM): "I heard a lot from fellow Englishmen about the tournament. High expectations and the tournament hasn't disappointed yet. Done all the right things. Just be ready when the opportunity comes and luckily, it came today and I performed. I came into the competition knowing that the pitches are slightly different from the ones in England. I was trying to hit pockets more and was trying to hit the floor hard. Luckily, shots went in the gap. I just loved the run-out dismissal in which I and de Kock were involved."
Player of the Match: James Coles
Tristan Stubbs (Sunrisers Eastern Cape Captain): "I mean we always talk about it but today we actually did the basics right. On a tricky St. Georges wicket it was important to do the basics right and we did it.

The way the wicket started to spin, I realized that it would get very difficult to bat later on. So, if we got 10 an over in the back 5, we would be in a good position. The way Coles batted was superb. I actually think he had the game of his life you know. He is a serious player to watch. He made it into the team on skill. He is a proper spinner, and his bat talks for himself.

The focus stays the same. T20 cricket is all about momentum and how we can carry that forward. The crowd was amazing. Most of the schools started today and we still had a full house. They were really vocal. We are very thankful to them."
Dispatch of the Day Award: Dian Forrester

Game Changer of the Match Award: James Coles

Time for post-match presentations...
Donovan Ferreira (Joburg Super Kings Captain): "I think we bowled well in patches. Some of the things didn't go our way. I think we gave around 10 runs extra. But with our batting line-up, we could have chased the target down. We sent in two left-handers to take on their left-arm spinners. The wicket was holding and turning a bit. However, we lost wickets in cluster and that didn't help our innings.

Each day is a new day. It's important to learn very quickly. We need to hit the nail right now. We need to peak right now. Whatever has happened in the last eight games has happened. If we have to fake it, then fake it. I know we have a team that can go all the way."
