That wraps up our coverage of this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of scorer Dushyant Madhukar Kumar and statistician Aman. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Jhye Richardson (Player of the Match): "It's awesome and to do it in front of 48,500 was special. It's always an advantage to host the final. Credit to Hardie. That was an outrageous catch. Probably, the best I have seen this year and it was incredible to get Maxi out. Hopefully, we can repeat something like this on Tuesday.
(On Finn Allen) He deserves the accolades tonight. To put in back-to-back performances like these, credit goes to him. 130 is a tricky chase but credit to Finn and Hardie for the way they played.
The teams generally don't like coming here. It will be a long flight for the Hurricanes."

5:49 PM IST, 8:18 PM Local Time: Thatās it. Perth Scorchers defeat Melbourne Stars comprehensively by six wickets at home and secure the first position. They will now host the Qualifier of Big Bash League (BBL) 2025-26 and will have two bites at the cherry. Melbourne Stars, meanwhile, will play the Knockout.
Chasing 131, the Scorchers got off to a shaky start. Haris Rauf breathed fire upfront as he dismissed Mitchell Marsh (12), Cooper Connolly (2) and Josh Inglis (1) in a quick succession to reduce the hosts to 26/3 in the fifth over. Finn Allen along with Aaron Hardie led the recovery work.
Allen pounced on anything loose and kept scoring at a brisk rate. He brought up his fifty in 30 balls after getting a life on 23. Hardie also looked composed at the other end as things slipped away from the Stars. Allen scored 69 off 39 before holing out in the deep, with his side 11 away from the win.
Skipper Ashton Turner (3) joined Hardie (41*) and both provided the finishing touches to the chase. The Scorchers chased down the total in 16.5 overs with six wickets in hand. Haris Rauf registered figures of 3/23 for the Stars but it wasn't enough as there weren't enough runs on the board to defend.
Earlier, the Stars were asked to bat first and they lost Thomas Rogers (0), Joe Clarke (0) and Sam Harper (6) inside the powerplay. Marcus Stoinis held the innings nicely and stood tall against the Scorchers. He received good support from Campbell Kellaway (19) and Hilton Cartwright (13).
Stoinis brought up a well-composed fifty before falling on 55 in the 14th over. Things went downhill for the Stars post their skipperās departure. The lower-order batters failed to contribute as the Stars lost six for 30 to get bundled out on 130 in 18.2 overs.
Jhye Richardson bowled brilliantly for the Scorchers, registering figures of 4/16 from his 3.2 overs. Cooper Connolly (2/18) and David Payne (2/30) picked up two scalps each as they did a fine job with the ball in hand. The batters then stepped up and took their side across the line to secure a home Qualifier.
