Milestone
That was some game at the SCG! An absolute blockbuster from start to finish. Centuries from the two veterans, Steve Smith and David Warner, lit up the night, with Smith in particular setting the ground on fire, including a monster 107-metre biggie. The Sixers hold their nerve to seal the win and move up to fourth spot on the table. It now sets up a virtual knockout clash against the Brisbane Heat on Sunday, with the winner booking a place in the playoffs.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide who, along with scorers/analysts Zeeshan Naiyer and Chandan Kr Singh & statistician Aman brought all the updates of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYEπŸ‘‹

Steve Smith (Player of the Match): "It was a nice wicket. Chasing 190, we had to get off to a nice start. Babar and I got off to a good start. Got in the Surge and got some away.

I launched it and I probably think it went 110m. It was a bit shorter side and the wind going that way. The seamers were the right match-ups and I thought to launch a few.

We spoke at the 10-over mark. They said take the Surge straightaway. I said nah, I'll take it after one over because I want to hit it at the short side. Happy to score 30 in that over.

A must-win game for us. Looking forward to going down there and putting on a show."

ICYMI: This is only the second instance of two players aged 35 or above scoring centuries in the same men’s T20 match, achieved today by David Warner and Steven Smith in Sydney. The first instance came in 2007 at Kidderminster, when Graeme Hick (Worcestershire) and Lance Klusener (Northamptonshire) did so in a T20 Cup game in England.
