Ryan Hadley is a tall and lively fast bowler from New South Wales whose steep bounce and ability to swing the ball have made him one of Australia’s promising quicks. Born and raised in Blacktown, Western Sydney, Hadley’s cricketing journey began at the Rooty Hill RSL Cricket Club, where his raw pace and work ethic quickly drew attention. Standing at 195 centimetres, he combines physical presence with a knack for extracting movement off the seam — a combination that makes him a constant threat with the new ball.

Hadley first came into national prominence in 2017 when he was selected for Australia’s Under-19 side for the Youth series against Sri Lanka. A few months later, he featured in the 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, where he impressed with eight wickets during the tournament as Australia finished runners-up. His performances at the junior level paved the way for his entry into the New South Wales system, initially joining as a rookie before earning a full contract ahead of the 2022–23 season.

He made his first-class debut for New South Wales in March 2023 against South Australia, marking the occasion with five wickets for the match and a display of disciplined fast bowling. Over his early Shield career, Hadley has taken 20 wickets in seven matches, including a best of 5 for 38, and has already shown the control and endurance needed for longer formats.

Hadley also represents the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. Although he didn’t feature during BBL|14, he re-signed with the franchise for the upcoming season, reaffirming his connection with the Western Sydney community he grew up in. Beyond the field, he remains closely involved in grassroots programs, mentoring young players through Thunder’s junior initiatives — a gesture that reflects both his humility and commitment to the game.
