Milestone
Sydney Sixers climb to fourth place with this win. On the flip side, after a flying start, the Stars have started to lose games on a string. This was their 3rd straight defeat. Still, they are 3rd on the table.

Tomorrow, Hobart Hurricanes host Adelaide Strikers at Bellerive Oval.

For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Arjun Bhalla and scorer Manish Bishnoi. We will meet again. Until then, it is cheers!
Joel Davies (POTM): "Yeah, absolutely! Gone back to back. The top seed are the Stars. So, a crucial game for us. It was a massive game for us. It just gets us ahead of the middle of the ladder, which is pretty congested.

I think Dwarshuis deserved it with four wickets for not many runs, but I'll take it.

I think I'm lucky enough to have worked with the GOAT, SOK, for a long time. And now that, I guess, Steve O’Keefe is away, which has been a big, big ask. But, yeah, I think he's getting a bit more opportunity since he's left. But it's just been awesome to be out there with the boys every game and just getting to follow and follow this.

I think I might be out of the team (chuckles on being asked about the returns of Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Todd Murphy and Josh Hazlewood). I don't know, but it's going to be a star-studded lineup. There will be some tough decisions for Shippy to make, but getting those boys back is going to be unreal. Fingers crossed, we can get Starc at some point, too.

I think batting is a bit more fun for my liking. I don't like getting hit for sixes, but I enjoy hitting them. It's pretty satisfying taking wickets, but I definitely prefer batting."
Player of the Match: Joel Davies
4:47 PM IST, 10:17 PM Local Time: The Sydney Sixers have bagged a brilliant victory over the Melbourne Stars, chasing the target of 129 runs by six wickets. The Sixers got over the line without breaking a sweat by 17 balls to spare.

The main heroes of the game were the Sixers' bowlers, especially Ben Dwarshuis, Jack Edwards and Joel Davies. The bowlers were exceptional with the ball, as they didn't allow a fiery batting like the Melbourne Stars to take a breather in the first innings. Dwarshuis was the pick of the bowlers, returning with a four-wicket haul. Meanwhile, three wickets went Edwards' way, and Joel Davies was spellbinding during his 2/15 in four overs.

The batters had a small task at hand, with just 129 runs on the board. Skipper Moises Henriques got off the mark quickly, while Babar Azam scored a complimentary 14 from the other end. After the openers went back to the hut, Josh Phillippe and Sam Curran revived the innings with a small, but necessary, stand of 27 runs for the third wicket. They lost the next two wickets in a quick span, but Lachlan Shaw's unbeaten blitz of 24, coupled with Silk's stay, took them home.

With this victory, the Sixers have bagged their fourth victory of the season. With the business end around, they will be bagging the services of Australian star performers in the form of Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

For the Stars, they are still sitting on the third spot, but have lost three games in a row now.

2 Over the wicket. Back of a length outside off. 114.4 kph. Slower ball. Silk stands tall on top of the bounce, punching this leg cutter through cover for a brace. That is it! Sydney Sixers win by 6 wickets. A walk in the park for the visitors as the Stars succumb to their 3rd consecutive defeat!
14 runs off the previous over. Peter Siddle to bowl the next. Just two runs are needed now.
