With this victory, Bangladesh have bagged its third straight win in T20Is and also broken Pakistanβs winning streak of three games. The hosts have kick-started this three-game series by taking a 1-nil lead, making the second game on Tuesday a highly anticipated one.
This is Arjun Bhalla signing on behalf of my colleagues Deepak Prakash, Utsav, Aman and Raju Khariya. Goodnight!
Litton Das (Bangladesh Captain): "We know about the wicket, because we have played lots of cricket here. The pitch is not easy to bat on. Maybe because of dew it got better in the second innings.
Someday you will catch extraordinarily, someday you will drop. We all know how Fizz executes in Mirpur. Sakib bowled really well, Taskin did really well in the death overs too.
That is a good sign. Hridoy is very experienced, he has batted a long time here and Emon batted really well."
Parvez Hossain Emon (POTM): "Yeah, really happy with the win. Our mindset was to stay positive and look for scoring opportunities. I thoroughly enjoyed hitting those sixes."
Player of the Match: Parvez Hossain Emon
Salman Ali Agha (Pakistan Captain): "It was not enough runs. We started well and kept losing wickets. We will sit down and talk about it and bounce back in the next one. Whenever you come to Bangladesh you expect this kind of wicket. You hardly get good wickets, but yeah we will sit down and talk about it.
I think they bowled well. When you have such low scores to defend the margin of error is very less. Win and lose will come, it is important to keep working on our skills."
Time for the post-match presentation.....

8:50 PM IST, 9:20 PM Local Time: Parvez Hossain Emon on the back of a match winning partnership with Towhid Hridoy, has taken Bangladesh to their 4th ever T20I win against Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, Litton Das, won the toss and opted to bowl first. Litton was his 10th consecutive toss, maintaining a 100% record.
Pakistani openers were off to a flyer, but that didn't last very long. Saim Ayub was the first player to get dismissed, followed by Mohammad Haris, Salman Agha and Hasan Nawaz, all departing in the powerplay.
Fakhar Zaman on the back of multiple dropped chances scored 44 runs, carrying the team in the first half of the innings.
In the second half of the innings, Abbas Afridi played his shots and kept the scoreboard moving.
Wickets kept falling in quick succession and Pakistan eventually got bundled out in 19.3 overs for a score of 110. Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the bowlers, who only gave away 6 runs in his 4 overs and took 2 wickets.
Coming out to chase 111, Bangladesh faced early setbacks. Debutant Salman Amir got the wicket of two Bangladeshi top order batters cheaply and rose hopes for Pakistan in the powerplay.
This was followed by a dominating and match dictating partnership between Towhid Hridoy and Parvez Hossain Emon, who took the game completely away from Pakistan.
Towhid departed after scoring 36 in a meager chase of 111.
This was followed by Jaker Ali, finishing the game alongside Parvez who took the team across the line with his 56 off 39 balls.
With this, Bangladesh has taken a 1-0 lead in the 3 match T20I series. The second game of the series will be played on 22nd July.
