Well, that's it from this match, folks! Join us back tomorrow as the Women's World Cup bandwagon continues with an exciting clash between India Women & South Africa Women!

Until then, I am Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my colleagues Ajay Pal Singh and Bishal Mandal! See you on the next one!
Alyssa Healy (Australia Women Captain): "Two points. We move on, look, I think. That is one of the best innings I have seen Moons (Beth Mooney) play in my career so far. Thanks to her, we got ourselves on the board. At one stage, we were looking to get to 150-160 and try and defend it. So to get over 200 was a huge effort.

No not really, it changed drastically from the last game when we were supposed to play Sri Lanka. It got quite dry. We didn't adapt and kept getting out in similar fashion. We will learn from that. We are off to a new destination tomorrow, we play India next. We have to switch back on and get ourselves in shape for that.

I mean, it is credit to our depth. How everyone can contribute in our team. We are creating partnerships but a little too lower down the order. It is an opportunity for our top-order to cash in with a big score and get a big total.

There are so many positives we can take from the two games we played so far. We won't dwell on some of the errors we made tonight. Like I said, fresh venue against a strong opposition, have to be ready to go.

Maybe, we will get a good look at the conditions. They play South Africa tomorrow. There are few teams here who will be watching what could be the conditions here in Colombo, might get a bit tricky as the tournament goes on."
Fatima Sana (Pakistan Women Captain): "We were on top in the first 20 overs, after that Mooney played well, and our energy went down. We need to improve on that. If you are on top, you need to remain there till the last ball, we need to perform consistently till the end. Our energy in the field needs to improve.

First thing we decided to bowl first was due to the pitch. We know we have the best spinners, and we wanted to play to our strengths. We need more partnerships in the middle, and we will discuss this together."
Biggest Win Margin for Australia Women vs Pakistan Women in WODI (by runs):

374, Melbourne, 1997

159, Leicester, 2017

150, Kuala Lumpur, 2018

107, Sydney, 2009

107, Colombo (RPS), 2025, Tonight*

101, North Sydney, 2023
Beth Mooney (POTM): "I would rate it pretty high. Obviously, we were in a pretty tricky situation when I was batting towards the end. Lot of questions from me to the bench, on what needs to be done. Got a couple of partners in Kim Garth and Alana King to get some partnerships going.

I was dying when I got back to the changing room when I came back. The message was to get a partnership going. If you are really committed to a certain style and method, that ended up working. They bowled really well and we had to grind for that one.

Little bit, from being out in the middle and speaking to Dan Marsh on what the method should be batting in the sub-continent. It was about sitting deep in my crease and hitting as late as possible. A couple turned towards the end, but got lucky with that.

(on Alana King) Yeah, she was incredible. Hitting plenty of runs down the order. We have seen her do that plenty of times in the Yellow shirt. Lucky enough to play with her at the Scorchers. She is a breath of fresh air. Great teammate - one of the best going around.

(On her sister supporting her from the stands) She actually looks a little bit more like Beth Mooney than Beth Mooney does, hopefully she did not have to sign a few autographs there

Dunked my head in the ice water can. Changed all my clothes and sat in the air con till it was time to come back on."
Player of the Match: Beth Mooney
9:38 PM IST, Local Time | Australia Women keep their perfect track record alive to notch up their second victory in the World Cup 2025! They defeated a shell-shocked Pakistan Women by a huge margin of 107 runs to take home the points.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first, and for a while it looked like a brilliant decision! They reduced Australia Women to 76/7 at one stage, but Beth Mooney's 109 runs, along with Alana King's fiery half-century and Kim Garth's resistance, ensured Australia put up a total of 221/9 at the end of their 50 overs.

For Pakistan Women, their spin trio of Nashra Sandhu (3/37), Rameen Shamim (2/29), and Sadia Iqbal (1/32) combined to put Australia Women in a deep hole, but the Women from down under were able to recover.

Come the chase, Pakistan Women had hopes but were given a reality check in the 3rd over, when Kim Garth found the edge of Shamas to open the floodgates. Post that, Pakistan were never in the game as they lost 5 wickets in the powerplay to the pace duo of Kim Garth and Megan Schutt.

Sidra Ameen displayed class and grit in her knock of 35 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered as only one other batter could enter double digits. Kim Garth led from the front with 3/14, and Megan Schutt contributed with 2/25 to decimate Pakistan's top order.

Post that, Annabel Sutherland (2/15), Ash Gardner (1/17), Georgia Wareham (1/15), and Alana King (1/19) swooped in to perform the clean-up act and deliver Australia Women a thumping victory over their opponents.

To Pakistan's credit, Shamim and Sandhu put on a strong front for the 9th wicket, playing together for almost 12 overs, but it only delayed the inevitable in the end.

Australia Women go top of the points table with 2 wins & 1 NR in 3 matches played!
