That's a wrap from this game of WCPL 2025. Guyana did their best to win but Barbados batters were way too good today for them. This is Mohammad Anab signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Arjun Bhalla and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Do join us for the live coverage of the next WCPL league game between Barbados Royals and Trinbago Knight Riders on Wednesday. Till then, keep following Crex to stay updated with all other matches taking place around the globe. Cheers!
Chinelle Henry (POTM and Barbados Royals Captain): "There is a bump, but nothing serious (on my head). I play like this, I told that to the coach as well. I am loving to lead this team.
Georgia Redmayne is a senior player, and we had her in the last season as well. It's great to have players like her on your side. It helps in crunch situations.
(On drama during the delay) I am trying to stay calm, but the coaches were continuously talking to us. We just wanted to know the calculation and what's happening. And when I got to know about the target and balls remaining, I got myself into the situation."
Player of the Match: Chinelle Henry
3:52 AM IST, 6:22 PM Local Time: Excellent win for Barbados. A captain's knock from Chinelle Henry to finish things. Barbados win the game by seven wickets (DLS method). They win their first game of the tournament while Guyana loses their first after winning the yesterday's game.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Guyana had a decent start and their openers Amy Hunter and Realeanna Grimmond set a strong foundation for their team. They had a opening stand of 53 runs. Grimmond went to stay unbeaten throughout the 20 overs and scored 61* off 57 balls. Laura Harris played a fiery knock of 26 runs off 7 balls at the end.
Pacer Aaliyah Alleyne picked two wickets while Shamilia Connell and Sheneta Grimmond took a wicket each.
The Guyana ended up posting 154/4 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Barbadian openers Qiana Joseph and Chamari Athapaththu also gave their team a good start. Athapaththu played some wonderful shots on the off-side and went on to score 29 off 24 balls, which consisted of six boundaries.
Wicketkeeper-batter Georgia Redmayne played a good unbeaten knock of 33 off 29 balls but it was skipper Henry who just made it impossible for the Guyanese bowlers to win the game for their team. Henry came at the third drop and went on to score 37* off just 19 balls. Her innings included two fours and four sixes.
In the 17th over, there was a stoppage in the match due to an issue with the floodlights. It resulted in cutting down of two overs. The revised target was 137 off 18 overs. But it did no harm to Barbados who went on to win the game with four balls to spare.
Only offie Ashmini Munisar impressed among all the Guyanese bowlers. She picked up two wickets for 24 runs in her four overs.
Barbadian skipper Henry was adjudged as the player of the match for her match-winning knock and tight spell with the new ball.
She and her Barbados teammates must be extremely delighted after winning their first league game of this year's WCPL.

Sixer to finish things off. Winning shot from the captain. Superb knock from her. It was a half-tracker from Harris. Barbados win the game by seven wickets (DLS method) with four balls to spare.

6 SIXXXX! Kaboom... that's it for the Royals, they have raised the curtains with a victory. Barbados hand Guyana its first loss of the season. Henry finishes the game with a maximum. She ends the evening with an unbeaten 37... take a bow, captain! Shorter delivery from the off-spinner, on the off-stump. The batter goes deep into her crease and then pulls it over the bowler's head for a maximum that lands well behind long-on. The Barbados Royals have chased down the target with four balls to spare as they win by seven wickets on the DLS Method!
Three runs from five balls now. Harris calling her long off fielder to come in the circle.
