Milestone
With this resounding win, American Strikers have now climbed up to the second spot in the points table, while Euro gladiators now find themselves at number four. Remember, the top four teams go through to the semifinals.

The dice will roll again tomorrow. Two mouth-watering T20 clashes are lined up and team CREX will be at your service again bringing all the updates. Join us tomorrow at 2:30 PM IST for the clash between Trans Titans and African Lions. For now, it is the troika of Darpan Tikiya, Arjun Bhalla and Bishal Mandal signing off. Sayonara!
Pradeep Sangwan (American Strikers Captain): "At the moment, everything is going as per the plan for us. The faster bowlers were tired in this game, so the spinners did the job for us.

Praveen Kumar has been great, so are the physios.

Kudos to Gaurav Tomar. He hit the first century of the tournament. Really happy for him.

I think everything is going brilliantly for us. We have been ticking every box."
Akshay Wakhare (Euro Gladiators captain): "Catching was the main issue. There we lost everything. In this kind of a match, we need to hold onto the catches. Gaurav Tomar played well, but he was also lucky. We still have games left. We will come back well."
Gaurav Tomar (POTM): "From the first match, my intentions were to bat long for my side. It started raining, so I decided to bat aggressively. I always look to score quickly in the powerplay.

The atmosphere in this side is brilliant. The surface has been decent enough. Ball has been coming nicely on the bat."

Time for the post match presentation!
10:54 PM IST and local time: American Strikers win by 7 wickets.

The outcome of the match was defined by the contrasting approach adopted by the top run getter on either side. Both Gaurav Tomar and Raghav Dhawan came out to open the innings and stayed there right till the end. However, Tomar smashed his way to a 39-ball 100 while Dhawan garnered runs at a much lower strike rate of 147.

It seemed as if the latter was reluctant to take risks and switch to the top gear even towards the fag end of the second innings. While he only scored 8 boundaries in the 46 balls he faced, his counterpart got 22 in 48. Tomar's intent was bold, shot selection unapologetic and ball-striking belligerent. Anything even remotely near his arc was bludgeoned. Every shot that he played must have added to Gaurav Dhiman's anxiety as he had put Tomar's catch down earlier in the innings.

Going by Dhawan's mid-innings interview, the Gladiators were happy with their first innings total of 188, which was then adjusted to give the Strikers a target of 168 in 17 overs following the rain break. However, it was gunned down with three-and-a-half overs to spare.

Strikers' spinner Malinda Pushpakumara, who was not afraid to give the ball air and even got impressive amount of drift, starred with the ball in hand. He ended with 2/28 in is 4 overs. Special mention to the whirlwind cameos by Praveen Gupta (30 off 14 balls) and Anureet Singh (21* off 10 balls) that entertained the fans gathered at the Shaheed Vijay Pathik Singh Sports Complex for this match.
