Milestone
That is the end of our coverage of the 6th match of TNPL 2025 between Chepauk Super Gillies and Nellai Royal Kings. CSG side have emerged out victorious by 41 runs and are at the helm of the points table.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay with us as a lot of cricketing actions wait for you across the globe. Good night.
Baba Aparajith (Chepauk Super Gillies Captain): "I think the cricket was good. It takes a lot to post 212 batting first on this wicket. Appreciations goes to the batter. We were initially looking for something over 170 but Vijay Shankar and Swapnil Singh were brilliant.

Coimbatore was great. Not just because we got the victory here, but the support we got here is incredible. Now a new ground waits for us, new pitch and everything new. We look forward to the next challenge."
Swapnil Singh (POTM): "Nothing, I was seeing the ball well. I got my eyes checked and I was seeing the ball well, that is it.

I was eying 190, as soon I saw the ball. I just wanted to hit every ball to boundary. This is my third year, this tournament is tough. It is not so easy. People think that it is a domestic tournament, it maybe an easy tournament but everyone plays spin well here.

For the last 2-3 games, we saw it was spinning so we took a chance."

Time for the post-match presentation...
Arun Karthik (Nellai Royal Kings Captain): "I am okay now. Diabetic, my sugar levels went down, had some sweets in the change room and now I am fine.

I think hats off to CSG, the took the powerplay by attacking. We gave away 30 runs more, we did pull back things in the end but it was too much in the end.

It was a tricky wicket. Spinners got some purchase. We also thought of adding an additional spinner but to tinker with the winning XI didn't seem the right decision back at the toss."
Abhishek Tanwar gets the Purple Cap from Subramaniam Badrinath.
11:05 PM IST | Chepauk Super Gillies won their second game of the season by 41 runs and have completely outplayed the Nellai Royal Kings. They did better in all the facets of the game and are the deserving winner.

Losing the toss, CSG came to bat first and they lost Mokit Hariharan early in the innings. But K Aashiq and Baba Aparajith made sure no further calamity happens. They added 88 runs for the second wicket before Baba Aparajith got out for 41 off 29 balls. K Aashiq completed his half century and finished his innings on 54 off 38 balls with 7 fours and a maximum.

After the two set batters got out, Vijay Shankar took the onus. He used all his experience to keep the scoreboard moving when Jagadeesan was at the other end. But when Swapnil Singh joined him, he shifted to the anchor role. Swapnil Singh ruled the roost and scored 45 off 14 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. Vijay Shankar put the cherry on the top with his 47-run knock off 24 balls hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes. CSG posted 212 runs on the board losing 7 wickets from their 20 overs.

V Yudheeswaran took 3 wickets for NRK. Ramsingh Sonu Yadav chipped in with 2 wickets and Sachin Rathi took a wicket.

NRK came to chase the hefty target of 213 runs and struggled right from the word go. Their skipper Arun Karthik had a terrible time in the middle and he saw the wickets to tumble at the other end. Santosh Duraisamy, NS Harish, G Ajitesh got out inside the powerplay and at the end of the 10th over, Arun Karthik walked off as his blood sugar level went down. And to add more plight, Rithik Easwaran got out in the next ball.

Later Arun Karthik came back in after getting some treatment and started hitting better. He and Adnan Khan reduced the margin of loss. They added 69 from 33 balls together. Arun completed his fifty and got out for 51. Adnan missed his well deserved fifty by just 2 runs and NRK finished with 171/9 on the board.

Abhishek Tanwar claimed 3 wickets and he is the current purple cap holder in this tournament. Swapnil Singh and M Silambarasan, the left arm tweakers took a couple of wickets and impact sub TD Lokesh Raj took a wicket in the final over of the game.
