Mumbai Indians go further in the tournament and will face Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 on Sunday in Ahmedabad. You have to feel for B Sai Sudharsan. The left-hander just scored runs for fun and with class. He bows out of the competition with 759 runs to his name. He has bigger prizes to grab now. He will travel to England along with his skipper Gill, as the two stylish players will feature in the purest format of the game. GT played a great brand of cricket but haven't been at their best in the last few games, costing them a season of hard work.

For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Pritam Dey, scorers/analysts Paras Yadav and Manish Bishnoi and statistician Aman brought you all the live-action of this thriller. We will meet again. Until then, it is cheers!

Rohit Sharma (Player of the Match): "I have got only four fifties and I definitely would've liked to get more. Today was a good day for us as a team. I do understand the importance of playing this Eliminator and going through this and taking the next step forward. We are really proud of this performance.

When I play the game, it's just about how I can do my best. Keeping everything aside, I just try to focus on how I can do the job for the team. Today, after having those few luck going my way, I knew I had to make the most of it. I am glad that I could do that and get my team into a good position. We got a good score on the board but we knew that with dew coming in, it's going to be challenging for us to defend. But I thought the bowlers held their nerve pretty well.

To be honest, I have played all those shots in the game before and unfortunately, I have found fielders. Somewhere down the line, you got to be lucky. Today was the day for me. Those catches got dropped. But again, as I said, even after that, you need to keep the momentum going and score runs for your team. It was brilliant from our entire batting line-up to post that score on the board.

(On opening with Jonny Bairstow) I have watched him over the years being on the other side but tonight, it was nice to be on the same side and have a crack at it. We know the quality that he has. Lot of experience playing in this format. We know what he can do upfront with that. He was playing his first game for the franchise, took his chances and it came off. It was a good start and then we obviously capitalized on it."

Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians Captain): (On whether he is breathing clearly or not) Oh, yes!

I mean, at one point, the game was even-steven. I thought the wicket got better in the second innings. It started to come onto the bat well, they got into rhythm, and we realised we need to hold our nerves and back our boys.

The way Jonny Bairstow started, for him to make our debut for us. It's a special franchise, coming in and playing the way he played was superb. The way Rohit batted. He took his time. The way Gleeson bowled. Then Jassi (Jasprit Bumrah) being Jassi. Ashwani, too, chipped in.

I would have loved a couple more big hits, even though I hit three sixes.

When you see important games, all these margins help. We wanted to push in batting, and I think we were able to do that. It is very simple. Whenever you feel the game is going away, just get him (Bumrah). It's like Mumbai housing prices - he is that expensive! I just need to throw the ball to him.

I was just watching the scoreboard, and I thought if we could keep extra runs at the end, I had the bowlers to bowl it. It was important that Bumrah came and bowled that 18th over, and the margin becomes bigger and bigger. It's going to be very important to recover well. Looking forward to the next game."
