So that marks the end of our coverage from the first semi-final of the National T20 Cup 2025 between Peshawar Region and Abbottabad Region. Peshawar Region have got a dominating victory over Abbottabad by 56 runs to book a berth in the grand finale. Now, Multan and Lahore Blues are having a face-off. The 2nd semi-final will commence very shortly. Do join us for that to know who will Peshawar face in the final.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on the behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. Special mention to Ajay Pal Singh for his help. Good night.
Iftikhar Ahmed (Peshawar Region Captain): "See when you have dropped a couple of chances and take two catches later on, it is worth celebrating.

I've always said that the team who can control the middle overs will control the T20 game. I think we have good quality bowlers. Be it for the powerplay, be it middle overs or death, our bowlers can contribute.

Sahibzada Farhan has been batting really well. Yes he has scored most of the runs but the matter is not of over reliance on him. Our batters are of good quality and they can contribute anytime."
Yasir Shah (Abbottabad Region Captain): "The wicket was a batting wicket. We thought if we can restrict them to 180, it would be good. Credit where it is due. Sahibzada hit the good balls for boundaries.

Our bowlers could've bowled a few more outside off deliveries but that happens. The middle overs went south for us with the bat and we got only 187. We had a good team. We gave our 100% but we couldn't play the finals."
Sahibzada Farhan (POTM): "The whole team believes in me. They were telling me that you have a century, you need to get another one. I just played my game and fortunately, I got there. Iftikhar told me that you have scored 60 percent runs in this tournament but you have to finish the game as well. That's what I did today.

I have worked a lot behind the scenes. My mentors have helped me to be ready for this tournament.

Peshawar has always played the final and semis, we will play the same way tomorrow like we played today."
Player of the Match: Sahibzada Farhan
11:16 PM IST and 10:46 PM Local Time | Peshawar Region have come out with flying colours defeating the Abbottabad Region by 56 runs. They have qualified for the final of the National T20 Cup 2025 and will come again tomorrow for the summit clash.

After being invited to bat first, Sahibzada Farhan scored briskly from the outset and provided a rollicking start to Peshawar Region, while Waqar Ahmed focused on strike rotation. The opening duo toyed with the bowlers and added 116 runs for the first wicket. Eventually, Yasir Shah trapped Waqar for 34 runs and broke the opening stand in the 12th over.

Sahibzada paired up with Maaz Ahmed Sadaqat and continued his merry ways, adding over 100 runs for the second wicket. Sadaqat departed for 31 runs off 17 balls, but Sahibzada delivered a scintillating 148 runs off 72 balls, helping his side post a mammoth 243/3 in 20 overs. Aamer Azmat also chipped in with an unbeaten cameo of 20 runs off 5 balls.

Abbottabad bowlers looked clueless and leaked runs at regular intervals. Shahab Khan, Yasir Shah, and Ahmed Khan bagged one wicket each for Abbottabad.

Abbottabad Region came to chase the mammoth target of 244 and started well as Sajjad Ali Hashmi and Shahzaib Khan batted well to score 74 in their opening stand from 6.5 overs. Sajjad got out for 37 runs off 22 balls with 6 fours and a maximum. After that, they lost Kamran Ghulam and Afaq Khan cheaply. That made them reel backward in the run chase.

After the opening stand broke, Abbottabad never looked to be in the competition. Shahzaib Khan went to score a fine 53 but he got life five times in his 43-ball stay. Atizaz Habib Khan, Ahmed Khan failed to contribute. Khayam Khan started his innings with a maximum and hit another in the third ball but fell for just 13. In the later stage of the game, Shahab Khan swung his bat to score an unbeaten 32 off 17 balls. Khalid Usman also contributed 17 runs but Abbottabad could only muster 187 on the board.

Usman Tariq, Israrullah and the skipper Iftikhar Ahmed himself took two wickets each. Imran JNR was the only pacer to get wickets. He finished with 2/22.

1 Peshawar Region qualifies for the final. They have beaten the Abbottabad Region by 56 runs. A good length ball at the off stump. Shahab pulls it to the right of deep midwicket. The fielder moves to his right and stops it from the edge of the fence. Single to end the game.
