Well that's it from this match folks! Join us back tomorrow as the PSL bandwagon rolls on and we bring you the LIVE coverage of all the action!

I am Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my co-commentators Deepak Prakash and Hiren Kumar, and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer! See you on the next one!
Shaheen Shah Afridi (Lahore Qalandars Captain): "The credit goes to the boys. The first game is always difficult. If you see our history, we have won a lot of games when we defend the total. The lengths of the bowlers were not as expected in the first game but the boys have bounced back strongly. Lahore Qalandars are like a F16 and will take off from here (smiles).

Yes, Rishad Hossain is a great inclusion in the team. We always wanted someone who can strike in the middle overs. Sam Billings is a quality player. He has also the shots and is a 360 degree player. Thank you."
Fakhar Zaman | Player of the Match: "When you play after a long time at such a level, you need time. I did not play to my best today and the wicket did not allow for a smooth flowing innings. Shafique made it easy for me, Billings finished well and my innings was well supported.

Our strength has always been bowling, and today's total made us feel confident to win. If the openers give you a good start, you have a better chance to capitalize later in the innings. I don't want to take any credit for today's win.

Their spinners are few of the best in this competition and they planned well for me by bowling outside off, but I tried to counter them to the best of my abilities."
Player of the Match: Fakhar Zaman
Super Power of the Match: Rilee Rossouw
Energetic Batter of the Match: Sam Billings

Time for the post-match presentation....
Biggest defeats for Quetta Gladiators (in terms of runs):

- Defeated by Sultans by 117 runs (PSL 2022)

- Defeated by Sultans by 110 runs (PSL 2021)

- Defeated by Qalandars by 79 runs (Season 2025) - TONIGHT*

- Defeated by Sultans by 79 runs (Season 2024)
Saud Shakeel (Quetta Gladiators Captain): "We didn’t pick the better team today—we were one fast bowler short in this contest. Credit to their batters; Zaman and Mitchell played really well, and the way Billings finished it off was outstanding.

The plan was to not give away wickets to Shaheen, but unfortunately, we couldn’t execute it and ended up losing a few batters inside the powerplay. We made a few mistakes and will look to correct them in the upcoming matches.

The Pindi wicket is usually a batting paradise—while the last match didn’t quite offer that, this one was a proper Pindi pitch."
