Well that's all from this match, folks! Join us back tomorrow as we bring you the LIVE cricketing action from all around the world!
Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my colleagues, Karthik Raj and Bishal Mandal! See you at the next one!
Jos Buttler (Hero of the Match): "Yeah, it was tricky and slow. We were exceptional with the ball. (On Thomas Aspinwall's performance) Yeah, he did great. As a unit, we were superb. Probably frustrating that we showed our best cricket in the last game. (Key as a batter tonight) Just to find the pace of the wicket. It is probably the best wicket to bat on in the country currently.
He is very clinical. (About Rachin Ravindra) Whenever a bowler strays in line or length, he puts it away which is the sign of a great batter. We left a lot out there. Couple of games where we should have gone over the line. Probably deserved to finish at this position in that regard. Bitter-sweet tonight."
Jos Buttler has been named as the 'Hero of the Match'.
1:31 AM IST, 9:01 PM Local Time | Manchester Originals avoid the wooden spoon and lift themselves up from rock bottom on the table! They do so by defeating the already qualified Northern Superchargers by 7 wickets!
Manchester Originals won the toss and elected to bowl first! Their faith was validated by Jimmy Anderson's maiden wickets in this format as he dismissed Dawid Malan and Daniel Lawrence within the first 10 balls of the match. Thanks to Samit Patel's fiery cameo of 42 runs off 19 balls, Northern Superchargers registered 139/7 after their 100 deliveries.
Tom Aspinwall was the pick of the bowlers with 3/17 from his 20 balls. While Jimmy Anderson and Josh Tongue chipped in with a couple of wickets each.
Come the chase, there was some hope for Northern Superchargers early on when Jacob Duffy got rid of Ben Mckinney cheaply and Tom Lawes picked up the wicket of Phil Salt to ensure both openers went back to the hut with single digits.
However, Jos Buttler and Rachin Ravindra had other ideas as the duo went on to establish a match-winning partnership of 99 runs, handing their team the victory! Jos Buttler notched up a fiery half-century but could not stay until the end as Adil Rashid found his timber on 70 runs. Rachin Ravindra played a supporting role in this successful chase with an unbeaten score of 47 runs!
For Adil Rashid, this was his most expensive spell in this tournament's history as he finished with 1/39 from his 20 balls.
There was not much at stake in this encounter, but Manchester Originals will now feel much better about their season as opposed to their standing before this match started.
