11:25 PM IST and 06:55 PM Local Time | Kent Spitfires emerge victorious over Somerset as they defend 228 and win by a margin of 4 runs. Earlier, Somerset won the toss and opted to bowl first. Daniel Bell-Drummond and Tawanda Muyeye started off in a fine fashion for Kent as the duo came out all guns blazing and smashed 69 runs in the powerplay without any loss of wickets. The duo continued their onslaught with the former being the aggressor. Daniel Bell-Drummond raced to his ton in 48 balls and got out the next ball. The opening stand brought up 158 runs between them. After the loss of the first wicket, Tawanda Muyeye held fort at one end and brought quick partnerships with the middle-order batters. He then got out in the 17th over, and Kent then lost its momentum. Somerset came back in the match in the death overs and restricted the Kent side to a score of 228/5. Rile Meredith bagged 3 wickets to his name. Chasing 229, Tom Banton and Will Smeed started off in a quick fashion as the duo made 91 runs for the first wicket before the former got out after reaching his fifty. Will Smeed fell cheaply too. Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Tom Abell then stitched a 59-run stand for the third wicket to bring their side back into the game. However, Kent struck with 3 back-to-back wickets and put them on the back foot. Sean Dickson and Ben Green smashed some lusty blows, but their efforts went in vain as they lost the match by a margin of just 4 runs.
