That’s all from this contest, folks! Chittagong Kings win by 5 wickets to stay alive in the tournament. For now, it’s me Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. CHEERS!
Mohammad Mithun (Chittagong Kings Captain): "Yes, this was a very important game for us. We didn't execute well in the last few games but we did well in this game with both bat and ball. The wicket was a bit tricky today, with some moisture in it, and the bowlers used the conditions effectively. Emon's strike rate was not good, but still, he hung around and made it easy for us."
Haider Ali (POTM): "I would like to thank the almighty, I managed to get the team over the line. The thinking was to stay focussed on my strong shots, whenever I got the opportunity, I wanted to take my chances.

Emon was playing well and he told me how the pitch is behaving. We were looking for one big over, once we got that, we kept on going with the flow."

Time for the post-match presentation......
Nurul Hasan (Rangpur Riders Captain): "In the top order, we didn't do well. Ifti bhai batted well but we didn't give him support.

We didn't play well in the middle. We let the momentum drift away. Yeah, definitely, we have another match in the league stages, we want to do well and would be ready for the playoffs."
4:20 PM IST, 4:50 PM Local Time: Haider Ali took his compatriot Akif Javed to the cleaners, smashing four consecutive sixes to seal the game with 14 balls to spare. Chittagong Kings win by 5 wickets and keep their hopes alive in the tournament. Rangpur Riders have lost three games on the trot.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Rangpur Riders were rocked hard by the Chittagong Kings and were reeling at 68/5 in the 13th over. Steven Taylor (0), Saif Hassan (8), Nurul Hasan (9), and Irfan Sukkur (1) were sent packing in single digits. However, Iftikhar Ahmed (65*) and Mahedi Hasan (22*) paired up in the middle and resurrected the innings for the Riders. The pair kept the scoreboard moving at a decent pace and added an unbeaten 75 runs for the 6th wicket, propelling the Riders to 143/5 in 20 overs. Khaled Ahmed bagged a couple of wickets for the Kings, while Shoriful Islam and Shamim Hossain chipped in with one wicket each.

In response to 143 runs, the Chittagong Kings lost Lahiru Milantha for just 6 runs in the 4th over of the innings. Graham Clark (15) and Mohammad Mithun (20) looked settled but couldn’t carry their momentum for long, leaving their side reeling at 63/3 in 10 overs. Parvez Hossain Emon was a bit scratchy in the middle, and when it was time to switch gears, he departed for 41 runs off 43 balls.

The Kings lost a couple of wickets in quick succession but Haider (48* off 18) unleashed his inner fury on Akif Javed, smashing four sixes on the trot and helping his side cross the line with 14 balls to spare.

Akif Javed and Mohammad Saifuddin bagged a couple of wickets for Rangpur Riders.

Stay tuned for the presentation.....
