6:51 PM IST and 5:21 PM Local | Deccan Gladiators humbled the Morrisville Samp Army in Qualifier 1 to proceed to the final of the Abu Dhabi T10 2024. Nicholas Pooran led the charge from the very front as the Gladiators are through to the fifth final.
The Deccan bowlers had ample runs in their bank, and they bowled with a big heart to topple the Samp Army by 56 runs.
Deccan tweakers kept The middle order under the pump as Usman Tariq looked class apart. He snapped a sharp-looking Andries Gous on 22 before all the hopes shut down for the Samp Army.
The Samp Army kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Tariq took two wickets, and David Wiese and Gleeson each took one wicket.
Earlier in the innings, Nicholas Pooran and Tom Kohler-Cadmore gave the Gladiators a superb start to the innings, smashing the Morrisville bowlers in all corners of the park. The duo stitched 124 runs for the opening stand, with Pooran ending the innings with an unbeaten 72, while TKC smashed a fifty.
With this result, the Gladiators become the first team to proceed to the final, while the Samp Army will have to play Qualifier 2 now.
