12:26 PM IST, 7:56 PM LOCAL TIME | Central Stags race over to receive the winner's trophy from Scott Weenink! Tom Bruce raises it up on the behalf of the entire team! Off goes the confetti and other glittery things.
Tom Bruce (Central Stags captain): "It is right up there in my achievements. Really proud of the group we have assembled. We have played some good cricket throughout the season.
Super proud of the team. We pride ourselves on bringing in some young guys. It is awesome to see them do well. For a few guys, this was their first ever final. But they stepped up and delivered against a good team.
It was good to see the crowd come up to watch. A word of thanks to the support staff. Also, the spouses and the families at home. They make great sacrifices too. Great to get some silverware. We will enjoy tonight."
Cole McConchie (Canterbury Kings Captain): "You've summed it up well, pretty frustrating game and we could not get the momentum with the bat and Stags put us under pressure in the powerplay. Great campaign for us otherwise and congratulations to the guys.
The depth coming through and the new young talent, pretty grateful to share the dressing room with them. Spoke earlier in the tournament, that all teams have quality sides and Stags were amazing.
Thanks to the coaching staff and Canterbury cricket, we get amazing support from them and the community and we will work to bring this home next year, and we hope you enjoyed the cricket we played, thank you very much."
Scott Weenink (New Zealand Cricket CEO) hands out the token of appreciation to the match officials!
Dane Cleaver (Player of the Match): "These are the games we play for and it's been a nice campaign. I'm proud to contribute towards the final hurdle. Canterbury have got a star studded team, and it was amazing how we bowled them to restrict them to a low total. Chasing 136 meant we could just play good cricket and having Young in the lineup was an advantage.
We have a proud history and a young group, that's pretty exciting. Guys in their first campaign standing out, makes me pretty proud."
