Tom Bruce (POTM & Central Stags Captain): "The new ball was doing a wee bit, probably more than what we expected. After it got old, was easy to bat. The total was good but it is only as good as your bowlers. They came out and dominated.
(On Dane Cleaver) He is ever-reliable, been our Mr.Consistent and was really good in the field as well taking a couple of sharp catches.
(About the next game at the Basin Reserve) New ground, new surface. It is about assessing the conditions quickly when we get down to Wellington."

Earlier in the day, the Central Stags won the toss and elected to bat first without hesitation. The openers started cautiously, looking to build a solid foundation during the powerplay. However, Curtis Heaphy was dismissed for 19 inside the powerplay.
The Central Stags shifted gears after the powerplay. A crucial 76-run partnership for the third wicket between skipper Tom Bruce and Dane Cleaver (41) provided much-needed stability to the innings. Their stand not only steadied the ship but also laid a strong platform for a flourish in the death overs, setting the stage for a competitive finish.
Josh Clarkson (35) played a handy cameo down the order, providing the much-needed impetus in the latter stages of the innings. However, it was skipper Tom Bruce who anchored the innings brilliantly, remaining unbeaten on 64 and leading from the front. His composed yet aggressive knock ensured the Central Stags posted an imposing total of 195/5 from their 20 overs.
Rohit Gulati on debut was the standout performer with the ball for the Northern Brave with figures of 3/18 from his four overs. So the target for the Northern Brave was 196.
In reply, the Brave got off to a horrid start. Katene Clarke was dismissed for a Diamond Duck in the first over of the innings. Brave found some momentum in the later half of the powerplay as Robert O’Donnell (24 off 10) played a quickfire knock but perished in the last over of the powerplay.
Northern Brave crumbled under pressure of a steep chase and lost wickets in clusters. Brave were eventually bundled out for 131 in 18.1 overs, falling 64 runs short of the target.Jayden Lennox (3/14) was the pick of the bowlers for Central Stags. A clinical display by the Stags to seal a comprehensive victory!
W RANDELL FINALLY WRAPS UP THE INNINGS! STAGS WITH A HUGE 64-RUN VICTORY! Short of a length outside-off, Walker swings it to long-on where Blair Tickner runs in and dives forward to complete a fantastic catch. So, the Northern Brave have been bowled out for 131!
