Charith Asalanka(Sri Lanka Captain): "Definitely it is an important win for us. This will be the start for us I think. The toss was too much important and thankfully I won the toss. I knew that 160 or 170 is the par score. Yes he(Dunith Wellalage) is a debutant in this format but he is an experienced guy. He didn't look like a debutant to me today. We will try to win the next game and win the series."
Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain): "To be honest, at the first half of the first Innings, we knew they can get 160 but as the game progressed, the wicket slowed up and 160 became challenging. We struggled to adapt to the conditions while they fully utilized the conditions tonight. Well we do not have much time to react as within 24 hours we have to get ready for the final game of the series. (On Gudakesh Motie) No, both the Lankan openers were right-handed so I wanted to continue with him and he bowled really well. (On the Decider) Well as a unit we will be ready as you all know, West Indies always loves to play Finals and he will be ready for that game."
Pathum Nissanka(Player of the Match): "I had a special plan when I faced the spinners. Happy to get the results. Yes, I was in cramp but that is not a serious one."
Player of the Match: Pathum Nissanka

10:03 PM IST & Local Time| Outstanding comeback in the three match T20I Series from Sri Lanka who have levelled the series (1-1). A dominating performance by Sri Lanka tonight at Dambulla against West Indies as the Charith Asalanka-led side have won this encounter by 73 runs. Earlier in the day, Charith Asalanka opted to bat first on the same surface that was used in the first T20I game of the series. The two Lankan openers got their side to a solid start with the bat. The pair of Pathum Nissanka (54) and Kusal Mendis (26) added 77 runs for the opening wicket. Post the powerplay, scoring runs were getting difficult as the ball was turning square. Powell operated his bowlers really well as the Windies have restricted Sri Lanka to a score of 162/5 in their 20 overs. Romario Shepherd (2/23) was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies. The target for the Windies was 163 runs in 120 balls on a really tricky surface. In reply, Sri Lanka started off with spin straightaway. Both the openers of West Indies were sent back to the pavilion in quick successions inside four overs. The visitors never got going in the run chase as they struggled massively against spin. Sri Lanka kept picking up wickets at regular intervals and have bundled out West Indies for 89/10 in 16.1 Overs. Debutant, Dunith Wellalage (3/9) was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as a total of 9 wickets fell to spin. So a comprehensive win for Sri Lanka who have levelled the series (1-1) as we head towards the series decider on 17th October at this same venue. Stay tuned for the post match presentations.
