Time for the presentations.
8:19 PM IST, 4:49 PM Local Time: A valiant knock from Sharjeel Khan went in vain as Durban Wolves failed to chase 134 runs, losing by 10 runs.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first, NY Lagos Strikers lost Rassie van der Dussen for a mere two runs, but Avishka Fernando (36 off 16) and Najibullah Zadran (43 off 17) went honkers and bonkers from the outset and laid a solid foundation for the Strikers. Thisara Perera failed to make an impact with the bat, departing for just one run. Joshua Bishop delivered a cameo of 18 runs off 8 balls, while Ryan Burl’s unbeaten 11-ball 22 runs propelled the Strikers to 134 runs in 10 overs. Dawlat Zadran and Muhammad Rohid Khan bagged a couple of wickets each for the Wolves, while Mohammad Irfan contributed a solitary wicket. In response to a hefty 134 runs, the Durban Wolves lost Colin Munro for a golden duck in the opening over of the innings. However, Sharjeel Khan scored briskly from the outset and kept his side in the hunt. Will Smeed (13 off 4) and Mark Chapman (13 off 6) failed to settle on the crease for a long time, leaving their team in a spot of bother. Sharjeel Khan continued his merry ways and notched up his fifty but failed to seal the game for his side, departing for 59 runs in the final over of the match. Regis Chakabva delivered an unbeaten cameo of 27 runs off 11 balls, but it wasn’t enough as the Wolves fell 10 runs short of the Strikers’ total.
Thisara Perera bagged a couple of wickets for NY Lagos Strikers, while Blessing Muzarabani, Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy, and Matiullah Khan celebrated a solitary wicket.
Stay tuned for the post-match presentation......
