Milestone
That is it from the dampener at Kingsmead. Both teams share a couple of points. DSG remain at the bottom, with 8 points, while MI Cape Town stay second on the points table, with 16 points.

For now, I am AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Pritam Dey and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer, who brought you all the live updates of this rain-hit contest. We will meet again. Until then, its cheers!
12:08 AM IST & 8:38 PM Local Time| That's it! The match officials have called it off. Both skippers shake hands as the match is abandoned due to persistent rain. Each team will share two points each.

Under overcast conditions, Keshav Maharaj chose to bowl first. During the pitch report, Shaun Pollock predicted rain could interrupt the game. DSG made one change to their XI, bringing in Dwaine Pretorius for JJ Smuts.

Ryan Rickelton and RVD gave MICT a brisk start, but Rickelton's cameo ended at 18, bowled by Junior Dala. Reeza Hendricks (8) and Colin Ingram (1) struggled to build momentum and were dismissed cheaply.

Rashid Khan promoted himself to counter spin but struggled to get going. Noor Ahmad bowled a brilliant wicket maiden in the 10th over, tightening the grip for the Super Giants. RVD (35* off 32) and Rashid (5* off 8) were at the crease when rain interrupted play.

The ground staff swiftly covered the pitch and square as the rain intensified. Unfortunately, it showed no signs of relenting, and after a wait of over two hours, the match officials called off the game!
12:05 AM IST and 8:35 PM Local Time: There is some movement on the ground. Plenty of groundsmen are near the covers. But unfortunately, the match has been abandoned due to heavy rain.
11:56 PM IST & 8:26 PM Local Time| The two on-field umpires make their way to the middle with their umbrellas open, followed by the fourth Umpire. They are now joined by the head of the ground staff. They are assessing the conditions while we can hardly see any fans in the stands. The umpires completed a brief inspection of the conditions and are now heading back to the pavilion, hinting at the possibility of calling it a day!
11:25 PM IST & 7:55 PM Local Time| The drizzle shows no signs of stopping, and chances of further play tonight looks very very bleak. The Wait continues for now...
10:40 PM IST & 7:10 PM Local Time| Nothing positive to update folks! The rain continues to pour, and the covers remain firmly in place at Kingsmead. Stay tuned for further updates.
10:04 PM IST and 6:34 PM Local Time: Umpires are with umbrellas and have a chat with the head groundsman. They are looking the weather radar at the moment.
