That will be it from all of us for this game. Do join us tomorrow as a cracking contest between the Melbourne Stars and the Hobart Hurricanes awaits us. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of scorer Manish Bishnoi. Ta ta. Bye bye.
Jason Behrendorff (Player of the Match): "It's really exciting. A huge crowd tonight and was great to get the win quickly, Now we have to wait nervously for another 24 hours.
Few of us don’t have contracts for the next year. Don’t know where we will land. We had an amazing time and we had a lot of fun. It’s a hard one. We want to keep playing and do what we love to do. But playing in front of this crowd is great. Mahli is also an exciting talent.
If we go through to the final, they will be missed as they will be heading to Sri Lanka. Cooper is having the golden bat and has had a great season."

5:45 PM IST, 8:15 PM Local Time: There it is. The Perth Scorchers keep themselves alive in the competition. They knock the Adelaide Strikers out of the tournament by beating them by five wickets and move to the fourth spot in the points table. They now wait for tomorrow's result. A win for the Hobart Hurricanes tomorrow will see the Scorchers make it to the finals.
Chasing 162, Sam Fanning gave the Scorchers a solid start. He played some lovely strokes and made full use of the fielding restrictions. His partner Finn Allen departed cheaply on 10 inside the powerplay. In walked Aaron Hardie at three and he along with Fanning built a solid partnership to keep the Strikers at bay.
The Strikers stormed back into the contest as well-set Fanning (29) and Hardie (28) fell in a space of three balls in the eighth over. Cooper Connolly and Ashton Turner steadied the ship and stitched a 43-run stand for the fourth wicket before the latter holed out in the deep on 21. Nick Hobson at six played a handy cameo of 15. Connolly at the other end held his nerves and remained unbeaten on 39 off 21 balls to steer his side across the line in just 16.2 overs with five wickets in hand.
By chasing down the total quickly, the Perth Scorchers have improved their NRR and moved to the fourth spot. They will be hoping that the Melbourne Stars lose tomorrow against the Hobart Hurricanes in the last league game.
Earlier, the Strikers got off to a blazing start, thanks to a quickfire seven-ball 22 from Alex Carey at the top of the order. His partner Matthew Short played some wonderful strokes upfront as they scored 56 at the end of the mandatory powerplay. Matthew scored 40 off 21 before getting stumped in the eighth over. His departure helped the Scorchers pull back things.
The Strikers kept losing wickets at regular intervals but Liam Scott at four kept fighting and played a fantastic knock. He raced past his fifty and scored 67 off 43 before falling in the 18th over. As a result, the Strikers failed to finish with a flourish as they got knocked over on 161 in 19.1 overs. Mahli Beardman and Jason Behrendorff bowled exceptionally and picked up three scalps each for the Scorchers.

6 Back-to-back sixes for Connolly and he finishes things in style. D'Arcy again bowls a flighted delivery right in the slot on middle, Connolly's eyes lit up again as he smacks it with a nice swing of the bat straight over the long on fence for another biggie. With this, the Perth Scorchers beat the Adelaide Strikers by five wickets.
16.1 D Short to C Connolly
6 SIXXX!!! That's a monster hit from Connolly. Tossed up delivery on the stumps, right in the slot, Connolly stands still, gets underneath this one and tonks it straight over the long on fence for a biggie. The fielder out on the boundary is a mere spectator.
