That's a wrap from our live coverage of the 2nd encounter of the Tri-Nation Series between New Zealand and South Africa. A commanding win for the Blackcaps, who have now sealed their spot in the Final. The focus now shifts to Pakistan versus South Africa on Wednesday, where the winner will set up a clash with New Zealand in the summit showdown.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Anirudh Modi who, along with scorers/analysts Yogesh Kumar & Raju Khariya brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Mitchell Santner (New Zealand Captain): "Players in form is the main thing. You want to win but different guys stepping for us is pleasing for us as a squad. We will get to Karachi and rest up a little now.

We pride ourselves on good fielding, especially on flat wickets where you need to make something out of nothing, it really helps in such situations. It was an outstanding knock, he looked good at the top and the partnership with Kane was amazing. There was a touch of grass the other night, which helped our bowlers."
Temba Bavuma (South Africa Captain): "Yeah I mean there was some positives at the end. Like you mentioned, a guy like Matthew, scoring 150 on Debut and also the other guys chipped in as well. Probably at the end it was not good enough as we did not score enough runs on the board.  We will try to focus a little bit more on the positives.

Yeah it was a bit tricky against the new ball. They made the ball nip around early on and it was challenging for me and Matthew. Once that went way, it was easier to bat on to be honest. Would have liked a bit of more runs but yeah, we will focus on the positives.

(Facing Pakistan on a virtual knockout) Yeah true. Obviously we have to be a lot better in our next game. It is not going to get any easier as we have to be at our best in all the departments. We are going to face a team who will be more clinical in these conditions. So really as a team, we have to up our game.

(On Matthew Breetzke) Yeah amazing. Look I mean, he was one of the guys who has been waiting on the sidelines for an opportunity. He is one of the few young guys who plays in all the three formats. I am sure you will see a lot of such performances from Breetzke in the near future. Hopefully he can go stronger and stronger in his career."
Kane Williamson (Player of the Match): "The conditions were different too, to get to 300 after a tricky start, there was some movement there and Breetzke with an incredible knock, we had to work hard to get there. We get a few days off now.

We are just going to go to different venues, we had a night game in the 1st ODI and day game today, we will prepare nice and early for the next match, the finals and hopefully we win that. We have to do it differently, it was great to be out there and you need partnerships when you are chasing. Conway was huge, getting the runs he did and the partnership we built."

5:52 PM IST & 5:22 PM Local Time| A dominant display from the Kiwis in the 2nd match of the Tri-Series! New Zealand cruise to a comprehensive 6-wicket victory over South Africa, sealing the chase with 8 balls to spare. Kane Williamson once again leads from the front, guiding his side to yet another comfortable win. New Zealand have booked their spot in the Tri-Nation Series Final.

Earlier in the day, Mitchell Santner won the toss and chose to bowl first on a flat pitch in Lahore. South Africa fielded an inexperienced side, featuring four debutants in their ODI line-up. The seamers found some early movement, with William O'Rourke making life tough for the South African openers. He eventually broke through, dismissing Temba Bavuma for 20 during the powerplay.

As the match went on, batting conditions improved significantly, and South Africa needed to put up a formidable total given their weak bowling attack. Matthew Breetzke and Jason Smith built a vital 93-run partnership for the 2nd wicket, followed by a substantial 131-run stand between Breetzke and Mulder for the 4th wicket.

Matthew Breetzke, one of South Africa's debutants, displayed great composure at the crease, playing each ball on its merit. He became the 4th South African to score a century on ODI debut. After reaching his hundred, he shifted gears and quickly raced to 150, becoming the first player to achieve this feat on ODI debut. It was a record-breaking innings from the young talent, as he was eventually dismissed for 150 off 148 balls.

Wiaan Mulder continued his innings, batting nearly till the end and helping his team surpass the 300-run mark. By the end of their 50 overs, South Africa posted a total of 304/6. However, on a very flat surface in Lahore, this score seemed insufficient, to be honest.

Matt Henry (2/59) and William O'Rourke (2/72) each took two wickets, setting up New Zealand with a target of 305 runs to chase in their 50 overs to secure a spot in the Tri-Nation Series Final.

In reply, New Zealand began their innings solidly with the bat. The opening partnership of 50 runs was disrupted by Eathan Bosch, another debutant, who claimed his first ODI wicket by dismissing Will Young for 19.

Devon Conway was joined by Kane Williamson at the crease, and the pair capitalized on the batting-friendly conditions, forging a massive partnership for the 2nd wicket. South Africa had no response to their masterclass, as the duo played risk-free cricket and effectively took the game away from the Proteas.

Kane Williamson, ever composed, reached his 14th ODI century. Meanwhile, Devon Conway narrowly missed out on a well-deserved hundred, falling for 97 to Junior Dala. It was a spectacular catch by Muthusamy at backward point.

Kane Williamson (133*) stayed unbeaten at the crease, steering his team to victory. New Zealand comfortably defeated South Africa by 6 wickets, securing their place in the Tri-Series Final. Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation.
