1:34 AM IST, 9:04 PM Local Time: Surrey become the first team to confirm their participation in the finals day as they beat Durham by 5 wickets and 12 balls to spare at The Oval.
Surrey won the toss and elected to bowl first. The bowlers proved it to be a good decision putting Durham at 69/6 at one stage but Michael Jones's unbeaten 37 and Ben Raine's 23 in 8 balls helped them put a challenging total of 162/8.
Surrey lost a couple of wickets in the powerplay but recovered as Dom Sibley and Rory Burns added 29 runs for the third wicket. Burns fell for 10 to Callum Parkinson who was introduced after the powerplay along with leg spinner Nathan Sowter from the other end.
Sam Curran joined Sibley at the crease and helped Surrey out of turmoil adding 95 runs in 63 balls to take the game away from Durham. Sibley scored 67 in 48 balls with 6 fours and 2 maximums with Sam hitting 52 in 34 with 2 fours and 4 maximums.
Brydon Carse (2/34), Parkinson (2/41) and Ben Raine (1/26) were the wicket takers for Durham with Sowter (0/32) trying to apply the brakes but the 4th wicket stand between Sam and Sibley produced the winning ingredients for Surrey as they raced away to the semis with 2 overs to spare.
