That's it from our coverage of the first T20I between South Africa Women and England Women. The visitors came out on top on a sluggish wicket at the Buffalo Park. The two teams will meet again on Wednesday (November 27) as the Proteas Women look to stay alive in the series.

For now, this is Ajay Pal Singh signing off on behalf of my colleague Asraj Khan. Good night, Bye Bye!!!
Heather Knight (England Women Captain): "I would probably batted. Not played here a lot. I thought we fought well. Charlie and Sophie in the middle got turn and bounce and were smart with how they bowled. Little bit scrappy in the field.

Yeah, it is brilliant. Our spinners all bring different things, on and off the field. Soph was on the money, so hard to play when she bowls like that. A lot of different options, they are a fundamental part of our gameplan. I thought Mlaba bowled well, she was hard to get away today.

The smartness of Nat's innings, and Amy's momentum-shift, took the game back in our favour. Nat is awesome, calm head under pressure. Nice to start with a win, now to try to win the series as we go back to Joburg."
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women Captain): "We came out with good intent. 150 would have been a good total. Unfortunate, we could not defend it today.

Showing intent early on in the powerplay. In the World Cup we didn't use our depth. Brings a bit more risk, but nice that we bat deep.

We were very good for a lot of that bowling innings, frustrating, and tough to lose. A lot of positives, but let it slip in one or two pressure moments."
Nat Sciver-Brunt (POTM): "Yeah, the openers got us off to a good start. The pitch got slow and then batting became tough but partnership with Amy broke the back of the chase.

Absolutely, whoever comes out in that situation, the idea is to get to know everyone. Hitting to the leg-side, not allowing (Wolvaardt) to hit to the off-side was the plan.

I was not able to swing the ball against the wind. South Africa have plenty of big hitters and we tried not to allow them to access the shorter boundary."

8:37 PM IST & 5:07 PM Local Time: Nat Sciver-Brunt's half-century gives England a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. The visitors chase down the target with four balls to spare. South Africa Women kept pushing England with wickets at regular intervals. However, it wasn't enough.

Earlier in the day, South Africa, after being sent into bat by England, posted 142/5 from their 20 overs.

Annerie Dercksen held the innings together with an unbeaten knock of 26 off 29. Nadine de Klerk played a nice cameo towards the end, remaining unbeaten on 29 off 16 to push the total past 140.

In reply, England Women got off to a flying start scoring 28 runs from the first three overs. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge was the first to depart, she made 11.

Her opening partner Maia Bouchier soon followed her back to pavilion in the next over. Sophia Dunkley failed with the bat, scoring just 4 off 9. Nat Sciver-Brunt held the innings together with a fine half-century.

Amy Jones gave her good company, with a cameo of 31 off 19. England got over the line with four balls to spare and four wickets in hand.

Eliz-mari Marx was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa Women, taking 3 for 19. Nadine de Klerk bowled a fine spell, picking up 2 for 20 from her four overs while Nondumiso Shangase chipped in with a wicket as well. Stay tuned for the post-match presentations.
