22:21 IST and 17:51 Local time- The inevitable has happened here and the game has been called off due to heavy and persistent rain here in Cheltenham. It will be a heartbreak for Gloucestershire as they've lost this contest on DLS. Kent just about managed to get through the final over to ensure that there would be a result.
Gloucestershire started off on a positive note as they got to 23 in the first three overs before the rain intervened. Miles Hammond remained unbeaten on 21 and he played some eye catching shots. However shortly after the rain Nathan Gilchrist was brought into the attack and he wrecked havoc. He picked up two wickets in one over to drastically change the course of the game.
It meant that the hosts fell behind the DLS par score despite having been ahead of it for the greater part of the game. Kent will be absolutely thrilled as this game could have gone either way and they have come out of it with a fortunate victory thanks to the rain gods. They were 8 runs ahead in the end and they will be victorious by that margin.
