That's all from this one-sided contest, folks! Deepak Prakash here signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. CHEERS!
2:07 AM IST, 21:37 Local Time: A comprehensive victory for Derbyshire as they skittled Nottinghamshire for 102 runs and won by 96 runs. Poor batting display by the Nottinghamshire batters. Earlier after being invited to bat first, Derbyshire lost their top three batters inside the powerplay but Wayne Madsen played a well-composed knock of 53 runs to keep the batting back on track. Brooke Guest remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 27 balls, and Ross Whiteley played a swashbuckling knock at the cue end of the innings, scoring 40 runs off just 16 balls and helping his side cross the 190-run mark. Olly Stone shone with the ball for Nottinghamshire, claiming three wickets, while Ben Lister, Calvin Harrison, and Lyndon James celebrated a solitary wicket.
In pursuit of a hefty 198 runs, Nottinghamshire started losing wickets from the first ball of the innings, and their batters failed to stitch a partnership in the middle. Derbyshire bowlers kept things tight throughout the innings and bundled out Nottinghamshire for 102 runs in 16.4 overs.
It was a sorry-looking scorecard for Nottinghamshire, with Matthew Montgomery and Tom Moores topping the list, scoring 17 runs each.
Daryn Dupavillon, Patrick Brown, and Ross Whiteley grabbed three wickets each, while Samit Patel contributed one wicket to Nottinghamshire's downfall.
W CAUGHT! That's it! Nottinghamshire are bundled out for a paltry 102 runs and Derbyshire win by a massive margin of 96 runs! Length delivery at the stumps. Lister looks to heave it over long-on but fails to get enough wood on it. The ball sails into the safe hands of fielder in the deep, who makes no mistake and pouches it safely.
16.3 P Brown to B Lister
0 Short of a length at the stumps. Lister wears it on his shoulder.
W WICKET! CAUGHT! Another nail in the coffin! Short of a length delivery around off-stump. Pennington looks to swot it over mid-wicket but gets it off the cue end of the bat that flies straight to mid-wicket fielder inside the ring, who takes it safely.
16.1 P Brown to C Harrison
1 Over the wicket. Full-length delivery on the stumps. Harrison flicks it to deep square leg for a single.
