That's all from our coverage of the 28th game of the Men's Hundred 2024 between Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Pritam Dey and our scorer/analyst, Paras Yadav. Good night.
Liam Livingstone (Birmingham Phoenix): "Yeah it was a very big win for us tonight. The wicket wasnt easy to bat on but we did a really good job to get it over the line. Really enjoyed batting with him (Jacob Bethell) as we constantly communicated with each other and built on the partnership to get the job done.

In this year's tournament there is a bit more help for the bowlers so high scoring games have lot happened a lot. We have four really good seamers so we always want to get early wickets to put the opposition in the back foot. Yeah really enjoying my time with this squad and we got a really important two points tonight.

We have a couple of skilled and experienced seamers in our lineup. Adam Milne and Tim Southee have been brilliant for us so far. Often we have the opposition down to 20/3 because of them so hopefully we keep it going.

No its not an easy feet (to win 3 games on the trot). We have a really good squad. We are playing some really good cricket, enjoying our time and having a lot of fun. Its nice to get over the line and move up to 3rd now. We are playing really well at home and looking forward to our next game against Manchester."
Tim Southee (Hero of the Match) : "Yeah it was a pretty good performance overall from us. The bowlers set the tone early on in the game and then the batters did the job for us to get us over the line. Well as a bowling unit, we have a lot of experience. Adam and I have played with each other a lot and we tried to keep things simple and utilize the surface. We have a home game and probably it will be a used wicket too so looking forward to that game."
Hero of the Match : Tim Southee
01:46 IST and 21:16 Local Time | Birmingham Phoenix continue their momentum by getting their third consecutive victory and Trent Rockets are out of the Men's Hundred 2024.

Batting first, Trent side found themselves in an appalling condition losing 4 wickets in 22 runs. Tom Banton, Alex Hales, Joe Root and Rovman Powell- all became the victim of a par excellence new ball bowling by Southee-Milne-Chris Wood trio. But the situation was well overcome by the Hundred debutant Tom Alsop and Imad Wasim.

Both of the left handers started it watchfully and later accelerated. Imad scored 29 off 29 balls hitting 4 boundaries. Alsop however continued to take on the bowlers and he scored 51 off 37 with 5 fours and 2 maximums. The lower order couldn't contribute much and Trent finished with 118 losing all of their wickets.

Tim Southee took 5 wickets for 12 runs and that is the second best bowling figure in the Men's Hundred history. Chris Wood took 2 wickets and Adam Milne took a wicket giving only 17 runs away.

Coming to chase the run, Phoenix got off to a good start as Ben Duckett added 30 runs off 16 balls rapidly to with 4 boundaries and a couple of maximums. Skipper Moeen Ali failed to bat at his ability and got out for 13 off 16. The middle order failed for the Phoenix as Jamie Smith and Dan Mousley got out for golden duck.

But Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell ensured that no disaster happen after that. Livingstone was watchful throughout his innings and remained unbeaten on 30 off 32 balls. Jacob Bethell played the role of an aggressor and added 38 runs from 29 balls with 5 fours and a maximum to help his team get a victory

Luke Wood and John Turner took a couple of wickets each for the Rockets.
