So, we come to a conclusion of the series. We have been gifted with some thrilling contests by both these sides- India and Australia.
The Women in Blue have a dry period ahead as they next play a game after eight months in September. Hopeful, that the boards can land up with some more series or contests in between. Meanwhile, Australia will be welcoming South Africa later this month for three T20Is, ODIs and a Test.
So, that is it. This is your guy, Arijit Kundu signing off along with hustler (co-commentator) Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Shoutout to Akshay Bhide, who gave us valuable insights from the venue. Thank you and have a nice year ahead. Adios!
Alyssa Healy receives the T20I series trophy 🏆 and now she heads towards her teammates. They pose for a photograph behind the WINNERS banner.
Alyssa Healy(Australia Women Captain):"I am not sure if I deserve the Player of the series. Phoebe Litchfield was amazing with the bat this series. But I am proud to have led the team to a victory. When you are chasing a total like that, you need to quickly get through the total and try and get the run rate down as quickly as you can. It came up well for us today, and the last game as well.
We are actually, its the first time for a while that we used just five bowlers today. We have nine bowlers who can bowl, Still learning this role as a captain. The bowlers bowled so well, they make things easy for me. Tahlia McGrath, went to her but she did not want to bowl. I really have a pretty good people with us.
Back home and after a home we have to face South Africa, a Test match in the WACA. So exciting times ahead. And then back to India for the WPL and thinking to be in the IPL as well."
Player of the Series: Alyssa Healy (89 runs and 2 catches, SR @ 133)
Annabel Sutherland (Player of the Match): "It was just nice to get a complete performance out there for the group and yeah, finish off with a T20I series win. We reviewed the first game. We probably didn't play quite as well as we'd liked and identified a few areas that we wanted to work on and yeah, really proud of the way the girls came back in that second game, and again tonight, it was awesome to see that.
[On back of the hand slower delivery] Yeah, I practice it a lot, a few times it doesn't come out so good, but yeah, just trying to trust my skills, read the game, and stay ahead of the batter."
