15:47 IST: A thumping win for the Mystics in this contest. That will certainly boost their net run rate. The Lions after winning three games in a row have now lost three in a row. They have lost their way just at the wrong time in this tournament.
After being put into bat, the Lions lost a couple of wickets early. Boundaries kept flowing for the Lions as their batters were able to get starts. However, they kept on losing wickets in clusters. In the end, they were bundled out for 121 runs inside 18 overs.
Coming to chase an under-par target of 122 runs. The Mystics openers provided them with a fine start as they stitched a 60-run partnership. Prajwal (37) lost his wicket just post the powerplay overs. However, Chethan (58*) and Macneil (27*) ensured that their side got across the line without any further hiccups in this game.
Defending an under-par total, the Lions gave away 20 runs in the first over itself. Only skipper Gopal was able to get into the wickets. But he along with the other bowlers was tonked around the park today and had no answers today.
With this win, the Mystics move up to third on the points table. The Lions slip down to fourth on the table and their net run rate has also taken a bit of a hit.
