Alyssa Healy receives the trophy 🏆 and now the whole team joins her on the stage for the photograph.
Alyssa Healy (Australia Women Captain): "Yes, it was a good result for us today. Lots of positives to take it through the whole and rest of summer. I think the depth in our squad is important. We have two big series multination one sin India and one at home. Good to see everyone contributing and this WBBL will help them get better at their skills. Enjoying the last couple of weeks. We will work on the T20 skills and how to go about it. We will sharpen our skills and some world class players in all sides. So, it will be a good test and learning curve for all of us. Happy with the series win in the end."
Hayley Matthews (West Indies Women Captain):"Yeah, I think coming down here, we knew it was definitely going to be a series that we wanted to learn from and I think the major thing from us is probably reflecting on it. I think we've done that over the last two days and over the last couple of ODIs. I want the girls can really go back and learn from what we didn't do so well. I think there are still a lot of positives that we can take out of this series.
[Speaking about the one who impressed the most in this series] Yeah, I think someone like Shamilia Connell has obviously taken up a really new role in this series. We would have seen her with the new ball a lot recently for West Indies, but coming in here using a lot of change-ups, bowling in the middle overs, and even players like young Zaida James, getting an opportunity to bowl obviously against the best team in the world is something huge for these girls. I keep saying, once they can learn from these opportunities I think as the T 20 series went home, we kind of saw our bowling taking straightforward, which is a huge positive.
[About her injury] Yeah, I just had a small grade-one tear, but all good now."
Kim Garth (Player of the Match and Series): "Obviously, sitting on the side lines, worked on my game. Gave my best and bowled right lines and lengths and did my best. I executed my plans well and got rid of Hayley today. Yes, we do post match reviews and get better at it. Throughout the series, we bowled well as a group. Partnership bowling is key and we saw that through the series and nice to see coming through it. Happy with the win and the series win as well."
Player of the Match and Series: Kim Garth.
Megan Schutt:"Yeah, definitely. I feel like 50 over is our main format and one we feel confident in and we kind of wanted to come out, make a statement and I feel like we've done that.
I guess partnering with Kimmy has been a great balance for us. Obviously, I'm pretty used to that, but I feel like she slotted in pretty nicely, and I feel like we've just been a bit more cohesive in this format, and I guess patience more our game. And getting Haley out early has helped as well.
Trying to stay patient is not always my strength, but luckily I have Tahlia McGrathat mid-off trying to tell me to stay patient and, yeah, luckily for her, I managed to do that sometimes."
