Earlier, after deciding to bat first in the first inning, the Samp Army scored 127 runs at the loss of two wickets in 10 overs. An electrifying inning from Andries Gous (68 of 33) helped his side score 127 runs. On the other side, Andrew Tye and David Payne scalped one wicket each for Team Abu Dhabi.
In response to 127 runs, Team Abu Dhabi didn't get off to a good start as they started falling like a deck of cards and were bundled for 48 runs in 8.4 overs. Fabian Allen was the top scorer for Abu Dhabi as he scored 12 runs off 10 balls.
On the flip side, Bas De Leede and Kashif Daud scalped three wickets each for the Samp Army. Akif Raja scalped a couple of wickets and Obus Pienaar took one wicket.
