Raymon Reifer: "I had a bit of fun out there tonight, was striking the ball well and was looking to take advantage of it. The umpire was a bit harsh but no love was lost there. It is a different format and u need to get on with the first ball. Lots of learnings from the game".
Jamaica Tallawahs wins the contest by 41 runs to make it two wins out of two. A comfortable win in the end as the chase of 163 proved to be a bridge too far for the Royals. The Tallawahs have officially qualified for the semi-finals.
Chasing a daunting target of 163, the Royals had too much to do. Rakheem Cornwall gave them a blistering start of 25 off 8 balls. Corbin Bosch was brilliant as the Royals were up and about in the chase as he scored 33 off 18 balls. Harry Tector the young diminutive Irish batter looked good for his 35 off 18 balls. Jason Holder contributed with 11 off 8 balls. They tried, but the Tallawahs were too good in the end.
Nicholson Gordon picked up a couple of wickets as he had figures of 2-18 in 2 overs. A couple of wickets for Raymon Reifer as well towards the end. Fabian Allen picked up a wicket and picked three catches in the outfield. They had runs in the bank and that helped them win the contest easily.
Earlier in the game, the Tallawahs put into bat first and lost Kennar Lews early for 7 off 3 balls. Rovmann Powell the skipper contributed with 11 off 6 balls. Fabian Allen contributed with 10 off 7 balls as well. But it was the 102-run stand between Amir Jangoo and Raymon Reifer that took the game away from the Royals. Jangoo remained unbeaten on 68 off 27 balls while Reifer was unbeaten on 57 off 19 balls. This was hitting of the highest order. The 102-run stand came off 36 balls and the last 30 balls went for 101 runs as well.
The bowlers were taken to the cleaners of the Barbados Royals. A wicket apiece for Corbin Bosch, Jason Holder, and Nyeem Young but they all went the distance at 13 and 14 an over on an average. It was a day to forget for the Royals bowlers.
So, a win for Jamaica Tallawahs by 41 runs takes them into the semi-finals of the 6IXTY and they become the first team to make it through to the knockouts.
