So that's the end of the season for Kent and Glamorgan! I am AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Tugral Azmi who alongside our scorer/analyst Chandan brought you all the live actions from this mouth-watering game. We will meet in the next game. Until then, it's good night..!!
And that's it! Kent cannot get a consolation win here as they exit from the competition. Glamorgan too is out from the tournament but they end the season on a winning note as they beat Kent by a solid margin of 35 runs.
Earlier in the evening, Glamorgan won the toss and opted to bat. They posted a solid match-winning total at the end of their allotted 20 overs as they finished at 190/5. Their top-order did get a good start but they failed to convert it to big ones. But an unbeaten good solid partnership (90* off 39) from Billy Root (38* off 25) and Dan Douthwaite (51* off 23) propelled the score to the 190 mark. In the process, Douthwaite got through his fifty.
For Kent, Qais Ahmad picked a couple of wickets while Jack LAEaning, Grant Stewart, and Matt Milnes scalped a wicket each.
Chasing 191, Kent didn't get the start they were looking for and lost wickets at regular intervals. They were reduced to 73/5 in 10.2 overs as their top order crumbled under the pressure of chasing a big score. Some consolation runs were scored by Alex Blake (32 off 25), Dan Douthwaite (34 off 22), Grant Stewart (23 off 10), and George Linde (21 off 15). It only reduced the margin of defeat and nothing else. Kent were eventually bundled out for 155 in the 18th over, handing a 35-run win for the Sam Northeast-led side.
Talking about the bowling side, Jamie Mcllroy picked three wickets while Dan Douthwaite and Andrew Salter gobbled a couple of wickets each. A wicket each for James Weighell and Prem Sisodiya as well.
W WICKETT!! THE FINAL ONE BITES THE DUST HERE!! Douthwaite picks up the second of the match! Fuller delivery on the woods. Milnes sets himself deep in the crease and hit that over the long-on fielder. Doesn't get any timing on that, from the cue end of the bat and Bevan running forward to take a brilliant catch in the end. Glamorgan lost the game to Kent by 35 runs.
17.1 D Douthwaite to M Milnes
2 Fuller on the slot, Milnes drills that one down to long-on and takes a couple of runs with ease.
