So, that is it from our side. Catch Akshay, Arya and Karthik in the next game in the PSL double header tonight. This is me Kingshuk, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators from this exceptional game of T20 cricket.
Usman Khawaja | It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed batting the 20 overs. It was a great team effort considering there were several players not playing. I won't be taking anything away from the bowlers considering the main bowlers were resting. We were one short in the bowling department and I think that they did a great job.
Usman Khawaja, the stand-in captain of Islamabad United has been named the man of the match.
Wahab Riaz, Zalmi captain | We were one bowler short but we could have restricted them to 160-170 if the bowlers bowled according to their field and executed their plans. We are disappointed, but this was also our first-day game here in the second leg, so we will try to do better next time and come back stronger.
Zalmi were one bowler short and that was clear in the way they were unable to execute their plans. But at the end of the day they did well to provide entertainment to the viewers of PSL. Sameen Gul, Umaid Asif and Abrar Ahmed had a forgettable night for Zalmis and would hope to execute their plans better next time around.
The efforts of Usman Khawaja and Hasan need to on a special mention tonight, as the former made a blistering hundred to get his team to the highest score of the tournament, and the latter bowled with exceptional control to give away just 30 runs from four overs in a day where bowlers got thrown out of the park.
A breathtaking game of cricket comes to an end that had a total of 479 runs scored in the game. A brilliant day out for league leaders Islamabad United all around, after they started on a lovely note with their batting and then returned to take early scalps to put the lid on the chase very early in the second innings. Zalmi did very well to not let their run rate drop and scored 232 runs at the end of the day courtesy, some breathtaking hitting from Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik, who were ably aided by the likes of Sherfane Rutherford and Wahab Riaz.
