That brings the end to our cricket coverage tonight. Join us tomorrow for a triple header which will be headlined by India taking on Sri Lanka on the second T20I of the series. Till then, good night.
Rashid Khan | Man of the match - I have worked on my batting, and we were confident that we could chase down 60-70 runs in the last 6 sets of fives. I have worked on my batting and I am very happy that I was able to chip in today. I was not happy with the way I bowled, I need to work on that a little bit.
A dramatic end to the game that lived up to its potential, and with that the Trent Rockets move up to the top of the table while the Superchargers slip down in the bottom half.
But the real hero probably were Mat Carter and Rashid Khan with their brilliant all round performances tonight. Rashid picked up three-wicket from his 20 balls and then returned to score a crucial 25 off 12, an innings that breathed fire into the dying innings of the rockets. Carter's exploits were similar. He was better with the ball, picking 2 powerplay wickets and then returned to hit 2 crucial big shots that turned the game on it's head in the last 10 balls.
No hard feelings between Hales and Stokes as they shake hands and walk off the pitch. Alex Hales with the winning shot and one more statement of intent for his induction in the English T20I squad for the World Cup later this year. He could not find his range for more than 70 per cent on the game, but came alive with just 15 balls to spare. He was lucky with Stokes missing the catch at long off and letting a six through, but that six in the 94th ball of the second innings brings the end to an incredible match.
94b D Willey to A Hales
6 That's the end of the game. A home run on that occasion as Hales moves across the off stump and deposits it well over the deep square leg fence for a huge maximum. Clobbers it from his presence, in the arc and it goes well over the ropes. What a knock, what a player. ECB are you seeing? What a moment and didn't he just love it. He will not forget this finish in anytime soon.
Carter is asking for a no ball on that one. And yes it is!!! But it is a front foot no ball, not the height. Wow! Unravelling for the Superchargers. They had this game absolutely in their hands and they have fluffed it now.
94b D Willey to M Carter
1nb Another full toss outside off, Carter wipes that down the leg side towards midwicket for a single. A no-balled called and a free-hit coming up. Front foot no ball by the look of things.
93b D Willey to A Hales
1 In the blockhole on the stumps and Hales dig that out working that down the mid-off fielder Stokes and steals a quick single.
