Zubaid Akbari Profile, Career & Stats

Zubaid Akbari has steadily carved a name for himself as a reliable all-rounder in the domestic circuit. Born in Nangarhar Province, the left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox bowler has been a consistent performer across formats, showing maturity beyond his years.

Akbari made his first-class debut for Speen Ghar Region in April 2018. His List A debut came in July 2019, while the T20 debut came a year later.

In mid-2023, Akbari received a call-up to Afghanistan’s T20I squad for the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, marking a significant milestone in his career. He even made his T20I debut in the gold medal match against India, opening the innings for his team.

The batter was also named in the Afghanistan squad for the away T20I series against Zimbabwe in December 2024. He even played, as a number three batter, in two of the three matches of the series in Harare.

Akbari has been named in the Afghanistan A squad for the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament in November 2025.
