A rookie bowling all-rounder, Digvijay Deshmukh represents Maharashtra in domestic cricket and the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
Digvijay made his T20 debut for Maharashtra in the 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and took nine wickets from seven games. In December 2019, he also made his first-class debut against Jammu and Kashmir. The fast-medium bowler made an immediate impact with 85 runs and six wickets in that game against J and K. These exploits helped him gain attention as the 4-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians picked him up in the 2020 IPL auction at base price. It remains to be seen whether Digvijay Deshmukh can break into the Mumbai line-up at some point.
Interestingly, Digvijay also made an appearance in a Bollywood film ‘Kai Po Che’ as a budding cricketer which also featured the late Sushant Singh Rajput as his coach. However, in his own words, Digvijay doesn’t like to be called an actor instead of his actual profession which is cricket.
