One of South Africa’s steadily rising young cricketers, Tiaan van Vuuren, is a left-arm medium pacer and a capable lower-order batter who represents Eastern Province and the Warriors in South Africa’s domestic circuit.
Van Vuuren made his first-class and List A debut for Eastern Province in March 2019, becoming one of the youngest players to feature in provincial cricket at just 17.
He first came into the spotlight as part of South Africa’s squad for the 2020 ICC Under-19 World Cup, where his disciplined bowling and ability to move the ball earned him recognition.
His performances in the CSA One-Day Cup and Four-Day Series have been noteworthy. He produced several key spells for the Warriors, including a standout performance against Boland in 2023, where his three-wicket burst turned the game. His maiden first-class ton came against the New Zealand A side in September 2025.
The 2001-born cricketer got a big break when he was drafted into the Pretoria Capitals squad for the SA20 2023-24 season. However, he made his league debut only in the 2024-25 season.
Based on his consistent performance, the bowling all-rounder has been selected in the South Africa A squad for the India tour in late 2025.
The Port Elizabeth-born lad is an alumnus of the Grey High School, which has produced several notable cricketers, including Graeme Pollock and Tristan Stubbs.
