Takudzwanashe Kaitano is a Zimbabwean cricketer who plays for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. Kaitano is a right-handed batsman who recently made his international debut in July 2021.
Kaitano made his first-class debut for Mid West Rhinos in the 2016-17 Logan Cup. The Kadoma-born was given a chance to shine in the shorter forms of the game when he made his List-A debut for the Rhinos in the 2017-18 Pro50 Championship.
In April 2021, he was named as a standby player for Zimbabwe’s Test series against Pakistan.
The next month, finally after years of hard work, Kaitano was rewarded with a place in the Zimbabwe Test XI for their one-off Test match against Bangladesh.
A wily all-rounder, Kaitano has toiled for years to cement a place in the national side. His domestic numbers speak volumes of how big a match-winner Kaitano really is. Still, in the prime years of his career, Kaitano will look to have a memorable Test debut against a strong Bangladesh side.
