His List A debut came in early 2008, followed by a memorable first-class debut later that year in the Ranji Trophy, where he impressed immediately by scoring 90 runs in his very first innings against Saurashtra.
He also stepped into the T20 format as early as 2007, debuting against Baroda in the Inter-State Twenty20 Tournament. Known for his control and clever variations with the ball, Sunny became a consistent contributor for Gujarat across formats during his time in India.
In recent years, Sunny has taken his cricketing journey to the United States, where he’s continued to shine. His performances in the Minor League Cricket have been especially noteworthy. Now, as part of MI New York in Major League Cricket, Sunny brings maturity, spin depth, and the ability to contribute with the bat when needed.
With his tactical acumen and calm presence, Sunny Patel is poised to embark on an exciting new chapter in his career on American soil.
