Shadab Khan earned a maiden international call-up in 2017 in a T20I match against the West Indies. He made an immediate impact with the ball, as the leg spinner took 3 wickets for 7 runs on debut.

A utility all-round player, Shadab helped Pakistan clean-sweep Australia 3-0 in October 2018.

As the all-rounder grew, he became a vital cog of Pakistan’s T20I side. He was a part of the squad that beat India during the 2021 T20 World Cup and went on to play the semifinal. In the subsequent T20 World Cup, as Pakistan played the final, the all-rounder played the knock of his life, 52 off 22, against South Africa.

On 27 March 2023, he took his 100th T20I wicket against Afghanistan and became the first male cricketer from Pakistan to take 100 wickets in T20Is. He was also a part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2024 and 2026 T20 World Cups.
