Profound for her wrist spin, Rashmi Silva was born on December 4, 2000, and bats right-handed. She made her debut in ODIs against the India Women side on July 1 at Pallekele. Unfortunately, she could only contribute seven runs with the bat. She couldn’t take any wickets in her 4-over spell but was very economical and gave only 30 runs.
India won the series by 3-0 but Rashmi de Silva impressed everyone with her bowling and all-around capabilities. In the last match of the game, she took 2 wickets and scored 18 runs.
Her maiden ODI wicket was the blistering top-order batter, Shefali Verma, whom she dismissed for a score of 49 runs. She followed it up by bagging the wicket of Harleel Deol in the sixth over of her spell.
She was a part of the 15-member Sri Lankan team for the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham and will now be representing the Lions in the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup.
