Born on September 30, 1995, Priyanka Bala is a well-known wicket-keeper batter from the state of Bengal. Bala plays for Bengal Women in the domestic circuit and has also represented Railways Women in the early stages of her career.
The 27-year-old’s talent and hard work were on display in the CAB Women's One-Day Tournament in 2021. In the semifinal against CAB Blue, the glovewoman played a match-winning knock of 71* runs that helped her team reach the final. Bala's performance in the match earned her the Player of the Match award.
In 2021, Women's Senior One Day Trophy the right-hander amassed 96 runs in 8 matches; an unbeaten 40 runs against Hyderabad Women is the best figure among them.
Years of hard work and dedication have paid off for the young girl. In February 2023, the Bengal-born received a career-defining moment when she was roped in by Mumbai Indians (MI) for INR 20 lakhs in the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL) auction. The prestigious selection in the WPL is an excellent opportunity for the young cricketer to showcase her talent in the WPL and learn from some of the best players in the world.
