A 20-year old sensation, Philippe Boissevain is a rare leg-break bowler for the Netherlands national team. At the age of 18, Boissevain was added to the draft for the inaugural edition of Euro T20 Slam Cricket for the Amsterdam Knights.
The Dutch-born leggie’s exploits in the Euro T20 tournament earned him his maiden national call up to the Netherlands side for the shortest format. He made his t20 debut against UAE on August 5th, 2019. Although the Netherlands suffered a loss they gained a young leggie who impressed everyone with his variations, picking up one wicket for just 19 runs on his debut game.
After making his List A debut against Ireland Wolves in May 2021, Boissevain was added to the Dutch squad for the limited-overs series against Scotland. He made his ODI debut on May 20th, 2021 but the youngster was ineffective against an experienced Scottish side.
At the age of 20, Boissevain was a revelation to the Dutch side that were lacking decent spinners for the Subcontinent conditions. The management would be hoping to nourish the wily youngster and develop his skills before it’s too late.
