Parshavi Gaurav Chopra is a talented bowling all-rounder representing the Indian U-19 team. She has been a Yuvraj Singh Center of Excellence student since age ten.
In her early days, skating was Chopra’s first love, wherein she went on to win the silver medal in the Uttar Pradesh (UP) U-14 tournament. After that, however, she switched to cricket because her father, uncle and grandfather were former cricketers.
Inspired by late spin wizard Shane Warne, the Bulandshahr-born took up leg spin. With impressive skills and hard work, the talented bowler was selected for the UP U-16 team for the Chhattisgarh Tour. She received accolades after being declared the best bowler in the tournament.
The U-19 camp witnessed the 16-year-old making a national record while registering six maiden overs with three wickets against Baroda. The leg-spinner performed well in the U-19 Nationals and NCA’s High-Performance camp and was named in the India squad for the U-19 T20 World Cup 2023.
With 11 wickets in five appearances, Chopra led India in the bowling charts and played a key role in helping the team secure a title victory in the U-19 T20 WC.
In the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 auction, UP Warriorz snapped her for an amount of INR 10 Lakhs.
