His journey began in the local cricket circuits, where his skills as a left-arm spinner quickly caught the attention of regional selectors. His domestic journey began with the Under-16 Central Punjab team. His performances at this level paved the way for his inclusion in the Faisalabad Under-19s and subsequently the Faisalabad Region Under-19s.
Representing these teams, Qamar consistently showcased his bowling prowess, making him a standout performer in regional tournaments. He was selected for the Pakistan Under-19 team. This opportunity allowed him to compete at a higher level, facing some of the best young talents in the country.
The left-arm wrist-spinner participated in both One Day Internationals (YODIs) and Youth Twenty20 Internationals (YT20Is).
Qamar further flourished when he joined the Gwadar Sharks. He delivered some valuable performances, showcasing his adaptability and calmness. Expanding his domestic career, he later represented Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL). This provided him with the platform to play alongside seasoned professionals.
In the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) players' draft, he was picked by the Lahore Qalandars as an emerging player. He marked this inclusion as a huge step in his career. His selection for the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL provides him with an excellent platform to showcase his talent on a larger stage. Playing alongside international stars and under-experienced coaches will undoubtedly aid in his development.
As a slow left-arm chinaman bowler, Momin brings a rare and valuable skill set to the team. This bowling style, characterised by its unpredictability and variation, often poses challenges for batsmen. With the bat, Momin's left-handed stance adds depth to the batting lineup. While primarily recognised for his bowling, his contributions with the bat have been noteworthy, especially in crucial match situations.
