A flamboyant No.3 batsman for Madhya Pradesh, Mohnish Mishra was given a new role when he was signed by the Deccan Chargers. He was thrust into the role of opener, and he didn’t disappoint. Making use of the hard new ball and the field restrictions, Mishra often gave the Chargers good starts.
The 28-year-old has a strike-rate close to 90 in limited-overs cricket, and in the Twenty20 format, it is nearly 140. He was signed by the Pune Warriors ahead of IPL 2011 and will turn out for them in IPL 2012 as well.
